Entities - Extended Lore
OverviewThere are more entities that reside within this dark fantasy world. They may be less known than vampires, werewolves, and magic users...but they do still exist. Many of them keep away from the physical plane. Preferring to keep to their own plains of existence and let the world destroy itself around them. However, some see the pointlessness to this mentality. They fear a future when the supernatural war of earth spills into their homes and their kind are also dragged into the fore of blood and battle. Some of them have their own personal reasons for entering into the human realm. These entities, are neutral spirits, neither angel nor demon. They are the spirits of nature, dryads, sylphs, guardians, etc. These entities are the mythical creatures like the sirens, phoenixes, kirins, kitsunes, etc. They abound in different lands and in different cultures. There are many of them and far in between. Often, these entities are those invoked by the mages in their rituals...they may choose to aid humans if they wish. For those entities, who have chosen to ingrain themselves in the modern world, it is important that they keep up their ruse to blend into society. Many of these entities actually have the ability to take human form, but for those who don't they do avail of magical spells/talismans either from their fellow entities or from other magical beings such as mages, angels or demons to hide their true form. Many of these entities also do not think or run in the same culture as humans do. As such, they may find common day activities quite strange. Some of them have not even encountered the experience of regularly eating, until they escaped from their own worlds. Vis a vis, humans might find the activities of these entities, especially when they're posing as humans, equally as bizarre. Some of these entities have had offspring with humans. Many of these hybrid-children actually develop the powers of the parent and are therefore classified as gifted. *If you wish to play an entity not on the list, just apply via your application

Powers and AbilitiesThese Entities possess a vast variety of powers unique to what kind of entity they are. Some can perform simple feats of magical ability, such as levitation or shape changing, while others are quite powerful in their own right. Some entities can match high-level angels and demons in terms of sheer power and strength, an example of these are the Guardians of the Watchtowers, spiritual beings from the astral plain. It really depends on what type of entity they are. Entities, unlike mages do not require spell-casting to use their power. They use their abilities much like it is merely an extension of their bodies. They usually have a larger assortment of powers than when compared to gifted individuals. *The more powerful an entity is, the greater scrutiny it will be placed under during the application process WeaknessesAs with their powers, these entities each have their own specific weaknesses as well. Physically existing mythical creatures have specific weaknesses according to their race. An example of these are merfolk, being unable to keep out for the water for indefinite periods of times or merely those types of entities that can die via a gunshot. On the other hand, spiritual entities similar to the angels and demons are very vulnerable to magical attacks. They can be sealed, bound, invoked, banished and many other things by mages or far stronger spirits.
