Gideon doesn’t look at all like your stereotypical high school math teacher. His bearing is far from that of having a nerdy air. In fact, for anybody looking at him, nobody would expect that he was a teacher at all. He bears the physical attributes of someone coming from Nordic ancestry, namely his skin is rather fair and his hair is the color of dirty-blonde. His has deep-grey eyes that carry with them an intensity of a warrior or a mentor depending on the situation. He always sports a rather scruffy appearance, since he enjoys his facial hair and rarely chooses to appear clean shaven.

He is a largely built man, standing at 6 feet and three centimeters. He is extremely broad at the shoulders and sports considerably large pectoral muscles. Then rest of his body also possesses the same heavy and chiseled musculature, which is quite ideal for the type of combat which he prefers. This comes from years of developing of his body. As a former Black Ops. Operative his combat training also contributed to his paragon-esque physique. Even though he no longer goes out on such missions, Gideon still keeps his body in shape, and his night-job as a Hunter for the supernatural is just as demanding as his previous occupation. His students and colleagues always think of him as someone built like a line-backer or a body builder. He does not at all exude the aura of somebody who teaches high school trigonometry, and looks more like he should be placed inside a professional wrestling ring.

Although the recent description seems to make Gideon out as a burly Neanderthal, that is not the case. According to a recent poll in the school gazette, Gideon ranked as one of the most crush-worthy teachers in the school. The writer of the article describes him as a hunky dreamboat, who can lay tangent to her curves any day (little math joke for you). Gideon’s eyes, apart from their intensity also have a deepness that some may find mysterious. He can be quite handsome and charming, in a rugged sort of way. His face is comprised of corners and angles, exuding a very masculine impression

Clothing-wise, Gideon tends to be rather limited in his wardrobe. This is only because it hard to find something appropriate as a teacher to fit a man of his size. Although he does wear the staple smart-casual attire expected of him. His wardrobe is usually comprised of button down shirts, vests, and corduroy jackets. It is as if Gideon is forcibly trying to fit, by means of his clothes at least, into the stereotype of a high school math teacher. But the fact that these pieces of clothing always strain over the massive bulk of his muscles, does wreck the entire illusion he’s trying to create. In fact, it makes the entire thing even less believable. Furthermore, Gideon has a very-laid back way of wearing these clothes, usually rolling up the sleeves or undoing the last few buttons towards his throat.

Whenever Gideon switches from high school teacher to full-on supernatural creature-killer, he trades in his teacher’s clothes for ones that can allow him to both blend in more properly with normal citizens and at the same time allow him to blend in with the darkness. This is usually comprised with more casual clothes of dark colors. Gideon, likes to wear leather jackets and tight shirts (although these are tight because he’s so beefy). Gideon also likes to wear his heavy boots, as he thinks that they’re touch and don’t break whenever he’s smashing his heel against skull.

Powers:
Extreme Regeneration - Gideon’s regeneration is said to surpass even that of Vampires and Werewolves. This enables him to regenerate any destroyed tissues or organs at a super-human rate as well as making him immune to known diseases and infections. His regenerative power is strong enough that he has previously survived complete mutilation, incineration and decapitation more than once. He can actually re-grow many severed limbs or large portions of his body instantaneously. In decapitation, his head regenerates the rest of his body, and the old one begins to corrode. Gideon's body is highly resistant to most drugs and toxins. For example, it is extremely difficult, though not impossible, for him to become intoxicated. He can, however, be affected by certain drugs such as tranquilizers, if he is exposed to a massive enough dosage. Although it has not shown its potential yet, Gideon’s regenerative power also provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process to an unknown degree which cannot be measured as of yet, since he is not old enough to see any effect. Gideon’s healing factor also affects a number of his physical attributes by increasing them to superhuman levels. His stamina is sufficiently heightened to the point he can exert himself for numerous hours, even after exposure to powerful tranquilizers. Gideon's agility and reflexes are also enhanced to levels that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete. His body doesn’t produce fatigue toxins, making him virtually able to keep on without resting indefinitely. Essentially, Gideon also doesn’t need any form of sustenance because even though his organs begin to fail due to lack of nourishment, they just return back to normal only to fail once again. Obviously, this is a rather painful process so Gideon does eat regularly. Due to his healing factor's constant regenerative qualities, he can push his muscles beyond the limits of the human body without injury. The source of Gideon’s power is that his body has the unique capability of absorbing ambient magical energy from his surroundings and immediately converting it into the organic matter used for his regeneration. It is therefore natural for his regeneration to increase in magically saturated areas such as Arc, near Ley Lines, places of worship and the like.

Skills:
Mixed-Martial Artist – Gideon's reflexes and senses are also extraordinarily keen. He has blended aikido, western boxing, kickboxing, and wrestling into his own unique fighting style and is a master of multiple martial arts. He has received extensive military training in these disciplines and has been tried and tested on the field during his youth. He is regarded by other skilled fighters as one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in Black Ops.

Firearms Expert – As part of his training as a soldier, he was required to be able to use and use efficiently a series of firearms. He is more used to carrying around semi-automatic machine guns and high-caliber rifles, in other words, the bigger heavier artillery guns. These were the weapons of choice for the Black Ops. He knows how to use hand-guns, but he feels slightly awkward with them and it throws off his aim. He comments how they feel tiny in his hands.

Espionage – Gideon has vast U.S. military knowledge and is often shown to be familiar with ongoing, classified Defense Department operations. He is an expert in combat strategy, survival, military strategy, and demolitions. Gideon also has a broad understanding of the espionage community, largely through his ongoing relationship with ex-colleagues from Black Ops. He is also quite proficient into breaking into computer encryptions or other electronic deterrents.

Above Par Math Skills – Gideon possesses extremely acute mathematical skills. Growing up, it was his most proficient subject. He gained honors and awards, and even won a couple of inter-state contests during his time. He also finished a degree in Math. On average, he can out-compute a man with a calculator unaided. He can perform even more complex equations when able to write them down or have some visual representation.

Driver/Pilot – Gideon has the natural affinity as a man behind the vehicle. He can easily maneuver with automobiles no matter how fast they are and no matter in what terrain. He can drive circles around most other people and his pilot-training had made him have an increased tolerance against G-forces. As a trained pilot he can also fly most planes and fighter-jets with ease. However, since being out of action for some time he may be a little rusty.

Personal Possessions:
Volkswagon Kharmann Ghia – Gideon owns one car, a vintage volks which he loves dearly. The car is sleek with a black paint job and a canvas top. But it’s one of the few material possessions which he really cares for. He’s actually named the car Susie. This car was been supped up and equipped with NOS, a reinforced steel shell and bullet proof glass. But it’s still godamn gorgeous.

Weapons and Equipment:
M16 - The M16 (more formally Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16) is the United States Military designation for the AR-15 rifle. Colt purchased the rights to the AR-15 from ArmaLite and currently uses that designation only for semi-automatic versions of the rifle. The M16 rifle fires the 5.56x45mm cartridge and can produce massive wounding effects when the bullet impacts at high velocity and yaws in tissue leading to fragmentation and rapid transfer of energy. Gideon loads these with silver or spell bullets, as the situation calls for it.

Wasp Knife - Wasp Knife is a trade name for a large knife that contains a cylinder of compressed gas in the hilt. When stabbing a subject about one cubic foot (or 28 liters) of gas stored at 800 psi is rapidly injected deep into the wound site. The injected gas causes much more damage than a single knife wound, both from the displacement of internal organs and from the freezing effect of the free expansion of the gas.

Limitations:
Gideon may be virtually indestructible but that doesn’t mean he is not without his own share of weaknesses. Although his body heals, the power does not suppress the pain he endures while injured. Gideon also admits to feeling phantom pains for weeks or months after healing from his injuries. He does not enjoy being hurt and sometimes has to work himself up for situations where extreme pain is certain. He also cannot reform his body from a decapitated head. Although the head remains fully functional, his body will no longer move. He needs to reattach his head to his body in order to complete himself. His regeneration, although faster and more proficient than those of vampires and werewolves, is dependent on the ambient magical energy in the area. Areas that have small amounts of ambient magical energies slow down his regeneration or make them unable to fully regenerate grave injuries. Suppose that if he was placed within a holding cell that negates or cleanses the area of magical energy, then he should essentially stop regenerating until he is once again placed somewhere with magical energy to siphon. He can also be nullified in events where his regeneration does absolutely nothing, such as in air-sealed confinements which would lock him perpetually in a cycle of rupturing and reforming his lungs.

Personality Description:
Gideon has a rather solitary and matter-of-fact attitude. His calm and detached demeanor has been called “cool, hip, and trendy” many times by students and colleagues alike. Despite his increasingly growing reputation and prowess as good teacher [and an excellent Hunter], Gideon has shown no signs of arrogance, and is rather modest about his abilities, as shown when he readily praises others for leaps in their abilities. His naturally calm attitude is used to his advantage in battle, as it becomes easier for him to maintain his composure to stay focused on the situation at hand. He is also prone to making jokes and cracks in good taste…and can often inject humor in a situation to calm situations down. He comes across as a very badas teacher, which his students enjoy and simply can’t get enough off.

Gideon also becomes overprotective of people he tends to get close to, such as his former team-mates during his Black-Ops days, and those feelings have now transferred to his students. However there is a dichotomy to this, because Gideon tends to be brutal when dealing with enemies who try to hurt those he protects. He uses extreme physical force to devastate his opponents, and is willing to sacrifice a limb, rather than lose a chance to defeat his opponent. Gideon also has a very stern and decisive personality, as seen when he is seemingly unaffected by his surroundings when he feels that he must do what he must.

Gideon used to be the epitome of what a soldier was supposed to be, obedient and efficient. However, things changed after a mission involving the supernatural caused him the life of his team and girlfriend and almost his own. This caused Gideon to lose faith in the government and to some degree authority figures in general. Gideon is thus very mistrustful of figures of authority, and prefers to handle things by himself. This also then translates to Gideon’s sense of one-pack mentalities; he does things his way and rarely likes working with others on mission or assignments.

Gideon also hides a more sensitive side, something which he is actually ashamed off. He likes to read romance novels and write poetry in secret. Only those people, who are extremely close to him, know about this aspect of his personality. An indication of how close somebody is with Gideon is if they know that he enjoys these things that tickle people pink, and even more so if they have managed to read his work…none of them are very good though.

Their Story:

Gideon’s story starts out not with Gideon, but with Glen Iver. That was Gideon’s original birthname, and the name that he went with as he moved from foster home to foster home. Glen was an orphan in Boston, and a product of the foster care system. It was the age-old story for Glen, some foster parents were good, and others were only in it for the money. From a young age, it was already apparent that Glen was larger than most kids and so he had to handle himself differently around them, so that nobody got hurt by accident. Glen, for his size, was also teased by other kids being called a Neanderthal [one of the less creative ones] this pushed the young boy to work harder in school, where he found out that he had an aptitude for math, and quickly fell in love with the subject.

But enough with the trivialities of his childhood, Glen’s life would really begin during his later teens and early twenties. Glen wanted to finish his schooling, but having no money he decided to enter a scholarship funded by the United States, military. He entered a math course, but after college entered instead into the military. Glen’s aptitude in combat was obvious, and sure enough he rose through the ranks and eventually found his way into the elite Black-Ops with a captain ranking. Glen was a very efficient soldier, considered to be one of the best and he and his team were the ones dispatched on the extremely dangerous missions. Glen had no qualms about this, and lived his life in the moment confident and content with serving his country.

It was also there, where he met Marie Claire, a fil-am woman also enlisted into his team. She was by far one of the most excellent pilots in the air force, and wasn’t at all useless on the battlefield. Needless to say, the romance blossomed between the two. They hid it at first, romance between team-mates were highly discouraged as it could get in the way of a mission. So Glen and Marie were very quiet about their relationship, and took the opportunities off mission assignments to spend time together. There was one mission however, when the Black-Ops team was tasked to infiltrate the terrorist enterprise in Kyrgyzstan. Glen’s team wasn’t given a full briefing on their task, but nothing was said about the nature of supernatural.

Glen’s team entered into the fore, and unfortunately found themselves in the middle of a supernatural war between werewolves and vampires. Without the proper weapons, the team did little good. They tried to call for back-up, but the government abandoned them. In actuality, they were only supposed to bring in a parcel into the area. And their team was chosen for the simple reason that the parcel needed to get inside and only their expertise could make sure of that happening. The entire team was slaughtered by unknown creatures, and Glen saw Marie taken by a vampire. Essentially, Glen died that day. How anybody could live after having their chest cavity ripped open and their insides dragged out across the floor was anybody’s guess. But Glen woke up suddenly, a shot of breath ran through his entire body and the blood began to flow around once again. His body was completely fine, no traces of the wounds were left despite him being completely aware when the large canine creature tore his chest open like a Christmas present.

Somehow, he found his way back to America, and returned to base. Unfortunately, the mission was supposed to be classified and there were direct orders to destroy any survivors, Glen included. The parcel actually contained a virus intended to kill vampires and werewolves, but it also destroyed humans. The sector tried to kill Glen, but whatever they threw at him he merely stood up from. He managed to escape the sector, putting up a chase all the way into Brazil, where he lost them in the Amazon. By the time he lost them, his body was so mutilated, just functional enough for him to trudge a few more steps. He collapsed on the forest floor where for seven days he didn’t move; once again his body knitted itself. It was a agonizing process, he had no food and water so on a constant basis his stomach ate itself and his kidneys dried up only to reform themselves afterwards. As soon as he was able to stand up and walk away, he did.

He hated the government, and didn’t want anything to do with it anymore. But he did want to find out about the secrets behind the creatures that his team had come into contact with. The Government was hiding something, well they always did but this time it became personal. His superiors had said nothing, so he had to find out for himself. He made his way back across the U.S. border where he changed his name into Gideon Hellkellson, and using his skills in espionage managed to erase all traces of his old identity and create a new one. His first goal was to kill his superiors in the sector, systematically he put all of them down, and lifted information from their files about the supernatural world.

He followed a trail set-up by the files he took from his ex-superiors and that same trail brought him to the most supernaturally concentrated sector of the world – Arc. Inside Arc, he applied for a teaching position at one of the public schools. His fake credentials granted him a BS Math Degree, which he actually deserved. Gideon entered into the teaching profession to make ends meet. It didn’t take long before Gideon became fully-integrated and more knowledgeable in the supernatural underworld. He quickly learned of the tension among all the crime syndicates, and how they were all actually supernatural factions as well. He also found out that the two warring werewolf and vampire groups were currently residing in the city and in a place of power. He decided that they deserved revenge as much as his superiors in the sector did.
