Veronika Santaw
[/b] In middle school Veronika needed a reason to stay away from her home. Her gym teacher suggested joining the track team. Veronika spent as much time as she could. She joined track teams during all seasons and went to every game even if it wasn’t her own to simply stay away. After six years of doing this, she gained the stamina endurance to keep running.biological informationFull Name: Veronika Nam-Ok Santaw
Nickname: Onika (ahn-ika)
Alias(es): The Wilted Rose
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual
Age: 21
Date of Birth: December 1
Marital Status: Single
Place of Birth: Los Angeles
Race: Vampire
Occupation: Bartender and the Queen’s personal assistant
Physical Appearance: In the years of her childhood, Onika’s mixed pot of ethnicities blessed her with an appearance others found distasteful – her body had to grow into the features that she carried. Her forehead was bigger than what was preferred and hair line uneven and gave her the appearance of balding. With the plump lips of her African American father and eyes of her Korean mother she was the caterpillar one would step on and never consider how beautiful they would have been in its full-fledged prime. Onika was on a similar road like the caterpillars slain before their prime – carrying deep purples, reds, and fading yellows on her tan skin when she boarded the bus for school each morning.
Like other girls, when Onika started to blossom in the years of her adolescence. Long and gangly limbs speckled with bruises filled into the starting of sensuous shapes of a woman. The plump lips she inherited from her father was accompanied by his nose and his slightly larger than desired ears were paired with her mother’s naturally full and well formed eyebrows and sharp eyes. No longer was she distasteful – her smile – the plump lips that widened to show white teeth aligned in a manner that was not unsightly - won over any skeptical hearts she encountered. Her dark eyes were an attribute that made others nervous, they were sharp and focused, appearing to stare deep into another person and judge them by their dress, mannerism, and presentation of self - while behind the eyes was a girl trying hard to keep a positive outlook, her scornful expressions frozen and memorized to keep face in a violently dysfunctional home. Her black hair was coarse and abundant, naturally straight and easy to care for.
When Veronika strayed from the path she started dressing in a style of eclectic punk meets grunge fashion. She wore heavy eye liner and mascara, her hair was messy and greasy, and boots. Veronika turned herself into something that her mother didn’t feel threatened by. Despite her attempts, her mother found Veronika’s change repulsive enough to start tearing her young daughter apart. It drove Veronika further and further into her addictions and self-mutilation. After her father’s death and later grandmother’s death, Veronika stopped caring about herself and disappeared.
When joining the Queen her views on beauty changed, she cleaned up her appearance. She no longer rocked the electic punk meets grunge fashion. While life as a human was consumed with trying to be as passive-aggressive as possible to win the favors of others, life as a vampire is filled with being a radiant and untouchable flower that she decided to become. While working, Veronika wears her hair in one of two fashions: straight down or in one sleek high ponytail; she wears clothes that suit the current generation fashion trends and is very fashionable. Most often than not while working, Veronika is sporting blacker with hints and flashes of color, a style of dress she has found that works best on her. In her personal residence, the confines of her space where she is undisturbed, she is like most women who want a day off: minimal effort and perfectly accepting of sweatpants, a tank top, and her hair tied backed into a messy ponytail or bun. When working for the queen, Veronika needs clothes the keep her movements fluid and do not hinder her. In a similar fashion as when she is working the bar, her dress is swathed in black. She has a hidden love for sundresses that she never wears and her skin, now more pale but still considerably darker than her other fellow vampires, misses the sun that is now too deadly to bathe in.
Celebrity Claim: Chanel Imanspecial abilitiesPowers:
• Vigor Gift:- Veronika, despite having been a vampire for three very fast years, can control her strength but she is prone to lose control when prey or enemies trigger her or her emotions get the best of her. Veronika uses her skills of surviving an abusive and difficult childhood with her strength. She mainly uses her strength to break up unruly bar fights and fights she may encounter with humans, gifted or not. In her three years of life as a vampire, she’s never fought anything other than humans.
• Celerity Gift: Having been in her high school’s track team gave her endurance and stamina to run for long periods of time. Veronika’s gift has added to this and she is often carrying out errands and running from potential enemies. More often than not, Veronika is running to get to a destination. The fastest she has ran so far is 72 miles per hour in the dark and purely to just to clock herself, in most cases she moves at a comfortable 50 miles per hour or slower.
• Sensory Gift: Veronika works in one of the Queen’s more popular clubs and she uses her heightened senses to tune out loud music and listen in on conversations. Groups of men or women across the club chatting amongst themselves about their plans for the early morning hours think they can’t be heard over music, the bartender wiping down glasses is intently listening. This allows her to follow, her eyes able to navigate their way through the dark better than a human, allows her to find a meal after work based on the conversations she’s listened to. While her heightened sense of smell usually nauseates her by the heavy smell of liquor and body odor in the air – it is usually the first sense she relies on when alone.
• Suspension Gift: Veronika is often following and listening on conversations for her Queen and she is usually running along walls or ceilings to get to her destination. As the Queen’s personal assistant, most cases Veronika uses the ability to get leverage on others in the clan when ordered to figure out what is going on.
• Ignorance Gift: Veronika is a victim of child abuse and this gift is one that even after three years she is not used to and does not count on it when fighting. Her mindset is survival of the fittest and the gift comes in handy after a sparring match is over or the battle has been won.
• Vestige Gift: Veronika uses this gift to visit her father, who died shortly before she was turned. The comforting embrace of her father is what helps her when she is overwhelmed of the past she has chosen and gives her guidance on what she should do. If not for being able to talk to him without her abusive mother around, she would have killed her mother with her bare hands for what happened. However, she lets her mother live her life knowing that someday she will die.
• Blood Speaking Gift: Veronika has tried to shut out all of the memories that she gets from the victims when she drinks, having had a difficult childhood, the invasion of her mind and seeing other’s lives puts her in a dark place. She looks at Jusztina more than her Queen, but as her best friend as she knows all of Veronika’s skeletons in the closet. This power or gift as some call it is a curse to Veronika, therefore feeding can be mentally draining for the young vampire instead of pleasurable. Veronika is aiming to ensure it progresses into pleasure and no longer pain.
• Turning Gift: Veronika, being a new vampire, has yet to turn anyone. Although she knows the ability to do so is there, she has amazing willpower to restrain from breaking the rules. She respects the rules of her clan and only feeds enough to quench her thirst and not enough to turn anyone.
Skills:
• Dancing: Veronika added dancing clubs and classes to her reasons to prolong from going home. Veronika will spend her free-time dancing in her room at the coven. If she can, she will rope others into dancing with her because of the happiness it brings her and she thinks that it is a great way to connect with others.
• Gardening: Veronika spent time at her grandmother’s house and her grandmother owned a green house. Veronika picked up knowledge of plants and what they need the more time she spent there. Although it is not a particular useful skill now that she is a vampire, she is very knowledgeable in gardening – she tends to a private garden of flowers at night under light that doesn’t harm her.
• Multilingual: Veronika is efficient in speaking English, Korean, and Spanish. Her mother spoke to her in Korean while her father chose to speak to her in English. Veronika quickly learned to speak fluently in both languages and in high school she chose Spanish as her foreign language requirement. After four years she was fluent in that, making her multilingual.[/ul]
Personal Possessions:
- Wolf Necklace:
[/li][li] 1 Carat Diamond Earrings:[/b] The gift her father gave her upon her sixteenth birthday – it was her great grandmother’s before it was give to her.
[/li][li] Korean Jewelry Box:[/b] Given to her by her maternal grandmother when she was twelve, Veronika has slowly filled her jewelry box not only with her jewelry, but different tidbits of memories that keep her happy and grounded. If Veronika is not wearing her diamond earrings from her father or the wolf necklace from her ex-boyfriend, they are nestled in this for safe keeping.[/li][/ul]
Weapons and Equipment: n/a
Limitations: As a new vampire, Veronika has little to no control over her blood lust and she has made a set schedule for her feeding to avoid losing control. However, she loses control more than she is in control and has killed people when feeding although she did not intend to that. In a similar fashion, she cannot control her powers that have been bestowed upon her now that she is a vampire. While once reserved and unwilling to indulge in sex, she now finds herself unable to resist any being that offers them to her or stop herself from offering herself to them. All of her inability to be like the person she once was has made her emotionally unstable and depressed. Once a lover of tanning and constantly working in an outside garden, the sun became a polar opposite and she can no longer indulge in the simple joys that made her happy without risking her life.[/blockquote]
psychoanalysis
Personality Description: Veronika is still the little girl longing for some sort of maternal love that she never received. She cannot help her desire to find a maternal figure and has turned to the Queen and elder females to guide her in her search. While what Veronika wants from them isn’t much more than hugging or listening to her vent her emotions that have built up over years, she still can’t bring herself to ask them. Because of Veronika longing for maternal love, she tends to bottle up all her feelings and brood on them for hours. She’s never acted on impulses before turning – the guilt that she gets from feeding drives her into a state where she hides from others. However her high self-esteem always pushes through the deepest of depression bouts and she convinces herself that her new powers were a better trade than a human life filled with misery.[/b] Veronika is completely comfortable with herself and she radiates confidence in her step. Veronika decided that worrying over what the crowd around her though about her was wasteful and she knows all decisions she has made to get her this far are no better or worse than any other decision she could have made. If she ever doubts a decision, she dwells on it until deciding she made the right decision or she cannot change it now.
When not racked by guilt or coming to terms with what she is, Veronika is friendly and social when she’s working in the bar. She’s a born natural of a woman who can comfort lonely men and women drinking their sorrows away. If she wasn’t behind the bar working she would be next to them drinking. Her observant behavior allows her to solve the puzzles the customers don’t say: married, single, or in a complicated relationship, whether someone died and if they were family or friend. Veronika was close and loyal to her friends when she was in school, her only friend now that she is a vampire is her Queen, and she longs to make more friends so she can fill the loneliness that is exemplified by her emotional instability. The only way she fills the loneliness is indulging in sexual favors with other vampires in the coven. Indulging in her sexual desires and needs only ease and cover her longings for companionship, and does not solve the issues that rule her.
Veronika is a hard-working individual, who throws herself into new tasks to keep her busy, positive, and upbeat. She lives to fill the tasks given to her by her Queen in order to one day fulfill her goals. Veronika drives to be in control of her blood lust and her powers, but each day she cannot help but allowing herself to feel defeated. Veronika is a sensitive heart and when she hears and senses others of her coven looking down on her for being so inexperienced. Yet, she’s too stubborn to let herself show it in their presence if she can help it. She’s gusty, constantly wanting to impress Jusztina and jumps at the chance to do missions even if they are well over her head. She’s too stubborn to heed the advice and goes about planning it, her tactical and observant nature setting in.
Overall, Veronika is the same as anyone else lost in finding themselves. Although she’s seen people in her coven that are well into their hundreds and still do not know who they truly are. She’s determined to sort that out before she gets that far into her life. She hasn’t decided if she will ever find her exboyfriend and apologize, a part of her worrying she would kill him when he lust for him turns into blood lust. The first three years of her new lifestyle have been particularly brutal as she longs to kill the mother who caused her so much pain, but knows that she wants to be in control of how the death is played. While her blood lust does get the better of her, Veronika wishes to make her mother’s death as long and painful as possible.
Strengths:
- High Self-Esteem:
[/li][li] Stealth:[/b] Veronika lived in a household with her mother, an alcoholic with no attachment to her only child because of post partum depression. In order to survive, as some of the time through child eyes Veronika thought her life was at stake, she learned how be cautious and move slowly so that her mother wouldn’t hear her. Even when running, Veronika is careful to make little noise so potential prey and enemies won’t hear her coming.
[/li][li] Observant:[/b] As the Queen’s personal assistant, Veronika is constantly watching who she interacts with and keeping notes for leverage if it is needed anywhere. She hardly misses anything that goes on around her, as she doesn’t want an accident to happen on her watch.
[/li][li] Patience:[/b] As a child Veronika had an abusive alcoholic mother who she had to hide from for hours when her grandmother or father was not taking care of her. Veronika became very patient in the process, putting up with any level of anger her mother and eventual classmates at school could throw at her. The only time when Veronika is not as patient is when she is already high on adrenaline and her feelings have been hurt.
[/li][li] Tactical:[/b] Veronika has always been a girl who thought out her plan of attack before acting upon it. No matter the situation, a race, a test, a route, or a fight with her mother, she takes the time to plan it out. Now that she is a vampire, she can spend hours brooding over a task she has to act upon before heading out to do it. When asked why she hasn’t done a task, her reply will be that she has yet to complete, she’ll state that she doesn’t want to make a move that is ill-thought out.[/li][/ul]
Weaknesses:
- Stubborn:
[/li][li] Inexperienced:[/b] Veronika has only been a vampire for three years that have gone by quickly. In terms, because she was eighteen when she was turned, she has spent most of her time discovering her true self and who she thinks she is underneath the face she keeps for those around her. Despite being tactical, her stubbornness doesn’t allow her to see the knowledge she hasn’t lived long enough to gain and she is worried her death will happen before she reaches half a century old.
[/li][li] Spiteful:[/b] Veronika is unable to forgive her mother for the pain she caused her growing up. Veronika allowed herself to be turned knowing that all the pain she was living with would go away once she turned. Although Veronika’s pain is still present, she feels that now she has the ability to take the life of the woman who bore her and drove her father to suicide. Veronika is constantly brooding and planning the best way to kill her mother and teach her that what she did the for seventeen years of Veronika’s life was wrong.
[/li][li] Sensitive:[/b] Veronika was always a sensitive heart when she was a young girl – longing for her mother’s affections and being judged by children’s mother for not fitting into her mix-race features. As a vampire, Veronika is ruled by her emotions and although she may put in a face that insults thrown at her do not affect her, they do and she can carry what bothers her for hours or more.
[/li][li] Trusting:[/b] Veronika has always been trusting of strangers she’s met in her life. If she had thought more on the negative of what Jusztina offered when turning her, she would have been in a different place by now. However, Veronika trusts everyone and believes they have good intentions under what they say and went with it. While her high self-esteem allows her to accept and be happy with the decisions she’s made, if she wasn’t so trusting of other people she wouldn’t be as vulnerable as she is.
[/li][/ul]
Fear/s:
- Her first fear is that she will die because of her inexperience in her new lifestyle.
- Her second fear is that she won’t be able to kill her mother out of weak heart or her own untimely death.
- Her third fear is that she will run into her ex-boyfriend before she is ready and control her urges to feed if she didn’t feed the day before.
- Her fourth fear is that Jusztina, the reason she is a vampire, will kill her for a mistake or abandon her. She considers the vampire queen her only friend.
Goal/s:
- To kill her mother for years of abuse and being the reason behind her father to overdosing when trying to take the “pain away.”
- Veronika wishes to write a novel in her free time. If she writes one then she longs to write many as she can.
- Veronika’s goal is to live until one hundred and gain as much knowledge as she possibly can in her exsistence.

biography
Their Story: Veronika wasn’t exactly a planned pregnancy for her two high school parents, that may have been the sign that her life before Lenny and Jusztina would be miserable. Her mother, Hara, had no attachment to the child growing in her stomach. As lazy as she was, Hara tried multiple times to miscarry but nothing worked. It could have been the scar from a C-section that triggered it or maybe the depression was there from before Veronika was born. The doctor’s diagnoses her with post partum depression and Veronika’s paternal grandmother took it upon herself to raise her granddaughter through infancy. If Veronika has a say as such a small babe, she would have requested that she was put up for adoption. As a child, Veronika’s mother yelled and smacked her often whether it was on her bottom, arms, or the side of her head. Veronika quickly learned that she was not to ask for food, how to use the toilet or she would get time outs in corners kneeling on a broom covered with peas and counting to one hundred with Mississippi in between. The only time when Veronika was given affection was when her father was home from her work or her Nanan, what she called her paternal grandmother, was in her company.
A small victory was when Veronika was found smart enough for preschool. Her father knowing the welts and bruises were from his girlfriend hitting their child decided that even if it was money that normally went to his girlfriend to keep her happy, were given to keep his daughter safe for as many hours as he could get her out from her mother’s grasps. Hara, knowing that her lack of funding to do the drugs and shopping she normally indulged in went to her daughter to keep her daughter became livid and kicked out Veronika and her father Lamar – leaving all of their belongs, some trashed on purpose, on the front lawn of the house Lamar paid for working. He took it in stride and moved them into his mother’s house. For a short time there was peace and happiness for Veronika, but it was short lived. Lamar was too trusting of his exgirlfriend and mother of his child (a trait his child later received from her father) moved back in when Veronika entered into kindergarten. While Veronika could see through her mother’s lies and her Nanan knew better as well, Lamar wouldn’t listen and moved into yet another apartment with her.
Hara was able to keep face for two months before she went back to her abusive ways. On nights when her boyfriend wasn’t home to make her cook dinner enough to feed all three, Hara forced Veronika to shower in cold water and send her to her room, which she locked her daughter in there, without dinner. Veronika was often woken up in the middle of the night by her father with food and singing apologies to his child. While Veronika would pray to God every night before she crawled into bed that he would move her out from her mother’s reign of terror, her father was never able to leave his girlfriend. Longing for his girlfriend to love their child and return to happiness, he worked hard to make things work, but when phone calls from teachers concerned over bruises and cuts went from his house phone to work phone and his coworkers knew of his mangled home life, he quickly understood that there was no fixing or saving the woman he once loved. He fell under a depression before Veronika entered the sixth grade and Veronika realized she was more alone than she was before.
Understanding her fate when she came home each day would be the same tyrant mother forcing her to clean as efficiently she could in three hours while getting hit, slapped, and whipped with hand towels, Veronika had to devise a plan to keep herself out and away from that life: her gym teacher suggested joining track because of the girl’s natural ability to run, Veronika leaped at the chance to join. Between the track team, dance team, and dance club after school Veronika would finally come home at seven and her mother would have already made her way out for a night of partying or working on her appearance. Veronika would make her peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the pitcher of apple juice she learned how to make from cans and diligently work on her homework then take a hot shower before crawling into bed for the next day. The planned worked and the bruises and cuts became less frequent – Veronika felt she conquered her mother’s abuse, but the hatred for her daughter became more prominent when Veronika finally grew into her features. Hara felt threatened that her daughter more attractive than she was (despite Veronika was leagues ahead of her with inner beauty and personality) and decided that the only way she could sleep at night was attempting to hurt her daughter. By now Veronika was too fatch to catch if she could run and her stealth allowed her to creep and find hiding spots that Hara couldn’t find. Every day was a struggle and Veronika, hurting from a home life that fit perfectly into one of the terrible pop singer Pink’s songs, turned to another form of escape: drugs.
Veronika morphed into “the bad girl,” her sweet demeanor and face hidden behind in eclectic punk meets grunge fashion and cigarette. Her new friends were into drugs and they helped take all the pain away from her home life. She spent her nights out partying, her need to be high overriding her need to succeed. The only activity she could handle to stay in was her track team, but the hours without her fixes were too much and eventually she had to be high to get through the track meets. She met Lenny, outside the school while she was smoking a cigarette, she wasn’t planning on meeting anyone – she was in the middle of having time to herself when he and his friends came, but she decided to give him a chance for someone to fill the empty void in her heart, she brought him over and they hit it off. Their meetings were a bit secretive: Veronika didn’t want the group of friends she spent the bulk of her days with know she was seeing someone three years younger than her. Eventually after Lenny suggesting they take their meetings to the forest that it moved to the forest where she eventually managed to take his virginity. While it wasn’t her first time, she long ago lost her virginity in a drunken and high stupor – she still felt the rush of emotions as if it were her first time all over again. After then, she didn’t care what the people around them thought about her, she flaunted her love for Lenny publicly. Her moods fluctuated when her mother got a few hits in and her father was high on heroin that he long ago turned to keep him happy. She argued often with Lenny and would smack him or hit him, channeling her abusive mother as she went, in her own desperate attempt to somehow make her life change from the downward spiral. Lenny tried to fix her, but she always seemed to find a way to not accept his help no matter how sweet and sincere he was.
Then the day came, where she got the phone call from her Nanan who was laying on her deathbed. Her father had overdosed with heroin that was tainted – the only parent that had ever wanted her was gone and she was more alone, and in danger to keep her life than she ever was before. Veronica simply stopped coming to school and her relationship with Lenny was gone. Clinging to the one gift he had ever gave her, she fled from her life to the city streets, carrying nothing more than her three prized possessions, her drugs, and a duffel bag of clothes. Her grandmother died soon after her father and she vowed she would never see Lenny again. She entered the Scarlet Light District, trying to start a career as prostitute. After some successes and many failed attempts, she met Jusztina. Jusztina offered to take “all the pain away” like her father did when he shot up heroin. In desperation she accepted, not understanding fully what she was getting herself into. When first turned, she had no control – she was simply too dangerous to be around anyone who didn’t have a death wish. Now, at the age of twenty one, Veronika has taken the title of personal assistant of Jusztina and works part-time at the bar in a club of the scarlet light district when she is well fed and rested – each night is a struggle to keep herself in check.

benedict couldn’t help himself; he had held himself back this long to keep from searching her out. even if she had thrown him out dry, like any sane woman who found she was dating a crazed blind man should do, he still vowed he would see her with the eyes post-operation. even if she didn’t want him to do the surgery, he did it, but not entirely on his own. what hurt him, as he watched her put her earrings in their little box, was that she never realized her gave up all his pride of doing things on his own to take the burden of her shoulders. she was going to become a waitress for him, or so she claimed, and if she had done that she would have never have gotten this big break.
he did it to help them; he even had his parents approved of funding an operation even though it meant he wasn’t coming home. he told them he still wanted to make a name for himself on his own, but he just needed their help so that he could see again. they agreed under the circumstances that he would make the effort to keep them informed, that when he disappeared and hid himself within the city, they were worried sick and they didn’t want that to happen again. they were practically begging to be a part of his life again and he had them willing to give kimi a chance to show her talents and her love for him.
she dumped him and they took benedict back under their wings, both parents respectively, simultaneously, when he came home the same night of the morning he left to fix his relationship. they were confused, because they didn’t understand when benedict told them his love for kimi was strong and she returned it. he made them think nothing of it and to not look down on kimi, that she did it for her work. both his parents, sacrificing many lovers before one another, lovers they thought were their soul mates, understood her decision. it was hard for them to bite their tongue, but they did as his request and he agreed to meet and date charlize per their request.
now he found himself standing in the doorway of the woman he once loved so passionately. as she was telling him that she just needed someone to blame, but he still felt that it was his fault no matter what she said. he wouldn’t argue, because she didn’t look well to him. it was hard to tell that all the times he felt her skin, her figure, if she was really this thin and sickly looking, but he didn’t imagine so. she was always thin, but she a figure and he could remember the curves, dips, of her body. if he ran his long, willowy hands along those sides, he didn’t think they would be the same that he remembered.
before he could speak or stop her from congratulating him on, what he knew was his engagement; she was off to her bathroom. he followed her, the need to take care of her and tend to her when she was ill was overbearing. when they were together, he could never take care of her properly. his body felt the need to take care of her, nurture her, and show her what a lover he could be if he hadn’t of been blind. but there wasn’t any room or opportunity to take care of her and when she avoided his concerned eyes in the mirror, it was a lash of pain that hit him across the face. she didn’t exactly tell him to leave, but he felt it in her actions. he was as stubborn as she was and he would get what he wanted. all he wanted was to talk to her, try to sew the mangled mess into at least a friendship, but he was beginning to wonder if even that was an option.
he stood in her dressing room, angled more toward the front than closer in, awkwardly. he didn’t know what to say, but an arm snaked it’s way between his side and clutched his arm. charlize, happily smiling, at the compliment she overheard.“thank you, kimi. we’re very happy,”but benedict didn’t feel happy.“the wedding will be in the spring when all the trees start blooming.”but benedict wanted a white winter wedding.“you should come; you’ll have to give us your mailing address.”
“i have it already, charlize.”benedict chimed and she only looked up at him and smiled before patting his chest.
“what an efficient husband i’ll have, ja?”she was radiant, but it was too much for benedict and he was torn. the woman he had and slept with many times and loved so passionately in the same room with the woman he was engaged to who worked just as hard in her profession as did benedict and kimi – he was drawn to the woman he loved and not the woman who was actually happy to be with him. but as he thought, and always thought, it was for the press, money, fame. he didn’t know if what they had, the minimal playful banter and admittedly rough sex, was what he wanted. or if he wanted the passion he had with the woman who loved him when he was deformed.
“we’ll be at the after-party,”charlize said, pulling benedict along and out of the room, her form-fitting dress hung to her curves and made her look like the bedside temptress she often played for him. he knew why she was so desperately trying to separate them – the fear of his eyes following a woman that was not her. but she didn’t vocalize it, not in the car nor when they hung their coats nor when he found them a place to sit. eventually, she just chattered with people she knew, worked for, or was prospecting to work for.
benedict didn’t like being a woman’s arm-candy and only speaking when spoken to. it was as if he was the high-price woman, but only a man and he didn’t care for it. his eyes began wandering, taking in people and the place and the little decorations, laughter and then his eyes caught her in her blue dress. she looked unwell, what if she was going to vomit again? what if she faints? her image in front of all the people she impressed was at stake and he couldn’t let her fall backwards, he would help. abandoning his betrothed, he darted his way to kimi’s side, looping his arm around her mid-back to sturdy her and offer her his cold water he didn’t once sip. the people she was talking to smiled – of course they knew who he was – a famous musician father and a world renown opera singer mother did not warrant you privacy, he had none of it and these people knew.
“excuse me as i borrow miss hiroyoshi for a quick minute.”he led her to the back, to a bathroom, a private one room that was one of those queer “family bathrooms” and let her release, breathe, be.
