Their Story:
Eszter was born in 1307 in the kingdom of Hungary to peasant parents: a mother who worked hard producing food and sustaining her household of four while her father worked for what little income they could grasp to keep afloat. Eszter was their first child and her younger brother followed in two years time. The family was generally overlooked by their neighbors and others. Eszter, however, was always a beautiful child and it awed others of her large doe eyes and innocent appearance. With sunkissed skin and pale blonde hair she was striking. While it worried her parents, Eszter indulged and bathed in her popularity from the townspeople. This popularity steered her life for centuries to come: it led her to straight into the line-up of girls in her village for the warlord who had conquered. Although she was twelve, she was still pushed to the line-up. On the fateful and sole worst day of her life, Eszter met Zoltán – her soon to be Hungarian warlord husband, as he sized up each girl as they were presented. Once she was sure enough to have children with the success of her periods, she was married at the age of 13 and became Eszter Csintalan.

Zoltán was a man who was one of the many ‘little Caesars’ after eight years of Civil War. However, Zoltán was not the mastermind of his moves throughout his region. While he was a sadistically dominant man in all appearances to public – he was secretly submissive in the bedroom and personal life regarding his wife, but his logic and rationale was skewed. After six months of watching Zoltán stumble in his tyranny, Eszter stepped up to the bat despite dealing with an emotionally and physically draining pregnancy with her first child. She ruled behind him with an iron fist and cruel demands. Their first child didn’t survive childbirth due to stumbling midwives and a doctor (resulting in their timely execution), but Zoltán wasted no time getting his young wife pregnant again. She took her first child’s death harshly and Zoltán became even crueler to the public through his wife’s rage. In 1323, their rule came crashing down as Charles Angevin killed Zoltán and his young son in the process. Eszter fled in the thick plumes of smoke and wails of townspeople – she made it far, but couldn’t fight off the pursuit of another following her. If asked, she can’t recall the exact details of her turning, she remembers some. Starving and alone, she made it to a nearby village that she assumed was deserted by the lack of moving life when she arrived at midday. Her tired mind told her to hide in a home that she assumed was abandoned only to be kicked alive by a malicious vampire who took no time biting her to feed and drain her dry. Without hesitation, Eszter quickly agreed to a new lifestyle unaware the consequences of being turned. She didn’t stay long with the village of vampires, a short span of two years after growing bored and unsatisfied, she left to quench her bloodthirsty appetite and replace the secretly submissive partner she once had.

After spending twenty-five years seducing, drinking, and turning many men, she finally found a suitor she adored. For the first time in her life, Eszter felt timid and shy around the man she desired. Ugo was
