idoya lupe maresol
biological informationFull Name: Idoya Lupe Maresol
Nickname: Lupe, Ido
Alias(es): Lupe Maresol
Gender: Female
Orientation: Pansexual
Age: 22
Date of Birth: February 16th
Marital Status: Single
Place of Birth: Spain
Race: Human
Occupation: Bartender
Physical Appearance: Idoya is a 5'9" woman who weighs around 153 pounds. She has light blue eyes and short brown hair, with long bangs that have been brushed forward and to the side. She never wears makeup and usually wears a simple t-shirt and a pair of dark jeans, or a tank top some pants and suspenders (because belts are boring and she has a thing for suspenders) but she's not against dressing up from time to time, whether in a nice dress or a classy tux.
For the most part, it's difficult to distinguish Idoya's gender. She was born with androgynous features and though her mannerisms are very feminine, she can also be very vulgar and unladylike. She has no strong or distinguishable features of a woman so her appearance continually wavers from being a feminine boy and from a butch girl. Her voice doesn't help either since it's incredibly raspy and sounds like a young boy's voice that's always on the brick of cracking, or like someone who has smoked a lot for her age. Plus, she's attracted to both boys and girls. "Idoya" is also a common name for both boys and girls but she likes being referred to as "Lupe" by close friendsor literally by anyone she's had a 10 minute conversation withpresumably because she's very egotistical about it. (It means "wolf" in Spanish; short for Guadelupe or, "river of the wolf.")
She's not offended if you get her gender "wrong" or not because she frankly doesn't care, let alone bother to classify herself as a boy or girl to others in the first place. If anything, she finds it amusing when someone guesses wrong and freaks out about it. Though admittedly, she understands that it can be less funny for the other person when they find out, and they were currently believing that they were going to get lucky with a dude.
Celebrity Claim: Szandra Szilvassyspecial abilitiesPowers: None
Skills:
- Bartender Skills: She has an encyclopedia knowledge about beverages and considers herself to be a mixologist, having a knack of inventing new and tasty drinks and for making some damm fine cocktails that keep the guests coming back.
- Good shot: She's only fired one type of gun before (that being her Spanish Shotgun) and though her targets have always been nothing more than cans, trees and a broken down car, there's no doubt that girl's got aim.
Personal Possessions: She doesn't have any personal possessions. She has a pair of nice trusty suspenders, but that's a superficial thing above anything else. Her brother might have something dear and closer to him. The only thing with real sentimental value is her rosary, but she wouldn't really be devastated if something happened to it either.
Weapons and Equipment: She owns a Benchmade 710 and a Kershaw Baby Boa and has both on her at all times (though the baby boa is more of a working knife). She also owns a Spanish Shotgun (an AYA Matador II 20 Gauge Side-By-Side, 26" Barrels Chocked Full\Modified, thank you very much) that she obtained from Spain. She keeps it around the house for protection and to scare off potential robbers though none have broken into her apartment so far.
Limitations:
- Going back to her bartender skills, it's important to note that she's not exactly graceful when it comes to the flashy moves that are usually associated with being a bartender like flipping bottles and such. She's getting better at it but she practices on her spare time when people don't get to see her
and so she could sweep up the broken bottles before anyone can catch her.- Like stated, even though she does have perfect aim with a gun, all of her targets have been stationary. Idoya is far from being an expert and has never tried to his a moving target before. Plus she's never been under pressure whenever she's fired so it's hard to say how well she'll react and how her aim will be if she was in a stressful situation.
- As far as mortal weaknesses go, meaning what can specifically kill her, it can be anything. She's human so she doesn't have any specific weaknesses or anything to damper her powers because, again, she has none. She's not allergic to anything but seeing that she can be killed from injuries and wounds that other creatures can shrug off, it's nothing to brag about.
psychoanalysisPersonality Description: Idoya Maresol is, initially, the definition of mellowness. She's friendly and social and tries to find the best in life. However, she's had a history of acting slow or gloomy, due to her undiagnosed depression that she's been suffering through for about ten years now. But if you were to meet her, you'd hardly ever notice because she always has a smile on her face.
Even with her overall calm personality, there are times where she can have her "off" days. One day she could be calm and unimpressionable and the next act completely rowdy, aggressive, "playfully" pushy, and even straight up loud. Usually this is due to her depression spiking up and her trying to cover up her moody behavior. The main reason she does this is because she starts to feel guilty for being moody in the first place. She compares her life to her younger brother's and feels that she doesn't have the right to feel sad for no damn reason. She hates to show weakness in front of others and doesn't like to complain much, so she pretends nothing is wrong and tends to act more aggressive/rowdy/"wild" toward other people hoping to distract them from her true gloomy feelings.
Even though she looks like it, Idoya is no slacker. In fact she's one of the most conscientious and hardworking people you'll ever meet. She started to take care of her brother when she was younger and knows about discipline and the responsibility she needs to uphold. In this way she can even act motherly (or, well, fatherly if the case calls for it) towards her brother and her friends, being caring, protective and kind. Though she's incredibly diligent in her work, that doesn't mean that she doesn't let her playful nature seep in from time to time. It's not that she's unable to see the line of when she has to be professional and when she can have fun - it's more that she ignores it. She can be dead serious when she wants to be, especially if it's concerning her brother's well-being, but she's a kid at heart and she'll never let that side of her go.
Idoya can also be a crafty little thing. She's able to accurately assess situations and/or people based on what she feels to be true and is quick to understand, learn, and devise and/or apply ideas, usually to turn things to her advantage. But she's never done anything conniving besides convincing patrons to drink more so she could sell more and earn tips.

Fear/s: Water (Can't swim), Porcelain dolls (an irrational phobia), Anyone hurting her brother in any way.
Goal/s: Keeping her brother alive in this twisted world so they could find a better life for the both of them.biography
Their Story: Idoya was born in Vigo, Spain with her vocal cords distorted, which made her voice raspier than usual when she got older. She's therefore unable to talk for long periods of time nor yell very much, otherwise her throat starts to hurt. However, she's incredibly irresponsible with this piece of knowledge and talks nonstop whenever she's with friends, and always drinks hard liquor that burns her throat. She justifies all of this with a shrug and saying, "At least I don't smoke." (Though people aren't sure if she's serious or not, since her voice sounds like it belongs to a chain-smoker.)
Idoya had a small family with her mother, father and uncle (her father's brother) living under the same roof. The Maresol family was a happy one, but they were dirt-poor with barely enough money to feed each other. So when Idoya turned two, her uncle left for U.S, to obtain the American Dream of becoming rich and famous so he can send money back to his home.
When Idoya was four, her mother died while giving birth to her brother. They were able to save the baby and though Idoya fell into a deep sadness after her mother died, she still loved her brother dearly. However their father was heartbroken and became bitter, utterly resenting his children - especially Idoya's little brother - and blamed them both for their mother's death. A couple of years later, their father became addicted to a number of different drugs and even started to make some in his home. Thankfully, Idoya was careful around him, and her immune system was able to fight off the repercussions that came from living with someone who used/made the drugs. Unfortunately her brother wasn't so lucky. He developed a slower immune system, constantly threw up, got easily nauseated and grew up weaker and more fragile then the other boys his age. It was so bad that every time he got some sort of cold, it suddenly became a life-or-death situation. It was only when their father passed away that her brother actually started to improve.
By then Idoya was eighteen years old and was able to take custody of her brother (who was then fourteen). A year passed by until Idoya found something interesting in their attic. She had been cleaning up and looking through some old boxes when she happened upon a number of letters from a man by the name of Agustín Maresol, who, from it's address on the letter, said he was from America. A place called "Arc City" to be exact. Turns out, this was the long lost uncle who had left for America so many years ago. Through the letters, she found out that he had made it there safely and had found a job at an upscale restaurant. He was unable to send money back for a long time and it was implied that there was a fight between him and her father, judging how hostile the letters began to grow when the topic of financial issues would be brought up. The last letters explained that he had made contact with a wealthy man and had offered him a job, but the letters abruptly stopped after that, Idoya unable to find any more.
She tried to write letters back to the address to see if Agustín would respond to her, but she never got a reply back. She then had a mission: go to America and find him. Her friends were going on similar missions where they would find old relatives in America and start a better life there, so why couldn't her and her brother do the same? Their neighborhood was riddled with crime activity and it was just getting worse over the years anyways, so wanting to escape the danger along with their sour memories of their home, they settled to move away from Spain and go to America, finally moving to Arc City through... not so legal systems.
They were determined to track down their long lost uncle and start their life from scratch... but that was before they realized how shady Arc City really was. They decided to settle in first and were able to rent a small apartment in the Second District, Idoya supporting both herself and her brother through a string of jobs: from being a busboy to waitressing and even becoming a bartender for a number of restaurants / bars until this year, when her brother was able to get his own job. Though Idoya protested at the beginning, she was eternally thankful for it in the long run. Currently Idoya works in the Central Business of Arc at a nice little restaurant in the afternoon and at a late-night club in the evening.
Other Information: Before they moved, Idoya's brother took the liberty of learning and teaching himself on how to speak english until he was able to speak fluently within the language, eventually teaching Idoya herself how to speak it as well. She's able to get around and speak in English just fine, but tends to slip into spanglish from time to time and revert to speaking in spanish when she's stressed or angry.
Idoya is a hardcore drinker. She's able to hold her liquor better than most people and tries not to get completely hammered but she drinks to suppress her moody thoughts and make her feel better, which isn't a very healthy reason to pop open a bottle of beer. She tries to hide this from her brother to no prevail and although she's ashamed whenever he finds out exactly how much she's been drinking, she denies any possibility that she might have a problem. Though she does have a high tolerance to alcohol, it's gotten to a point that she's even disturbed at herself at how much she can consume in one day, but tries her best to ignore it.
She can also be quite the lecherous imp. She's never had a serious relationship (nor is she looking for one) and all of her "romantic" relationships have been with one night stands and with friends-with-benefits / friends-who-had-too-much-to-drink. Her brother, being the more monogamous type, also gets pretty ticked off by this.
Coming to America was a bittersweet experience. Although they're living in a slightly better neighborhood now, they would agree that any new neighborhood would've been better then where they used to live. Still, they can't deny the fact that all they really did was move from one slum to another slum. It's not really disappointment that they feel - it's just a little melancholy.
And, the truth of the matter is, their neighborhood isn't even safe at all - it's worse. Idoya is unable to see this because, even after living for three years in Arc, she has not had any contact with the supernatural world that literally sits outside and around her, nor has she ever payed attention to the rumors of the matter. She's completely ignorant and unaware how dangerous the area is and if she ever does hear a clear rumor about something supernatural happening, she'll regard the stories with a grain of salt, comparing it to el hombre del saco (the spanish version of the boogeyman).rp sampleIdoya hated slow days.
Detested, despised, unloved, loathed, hated slow days. She wouldn't even care if that one annoying group of graduates from the nearby school decided to come around - it would at least give her something to do and give her some test subjects for her new drinks she had in mind, unbeknownst to them all. But alas, there had only been around a hand full of people that came by throughout the whole day. And it was the weekend for god's sake. She leaned over the bar counter with her elbow propped up on it; resting her chin on the palm of her hand and idly playing with the numerous necklaces she had put on today.
She was bored.
Idoya looked on at the empty tables with a frustrated sigh. Only one or two tables were occupied in the dingy corners of the pub with some shady looking people slowly chugging down some hard liquor. Nothing more.
'Dios mio, why did they even bother to call me in?' She mused to herself. She reached up and pushed her bangs out of the way before they flopped back onto her face. She got up to grab a recently rinsed-off mug and a rag and began to dry the inside of the mug roughly with frustration. 'Probably thought La Androginia would rack in some people better than the other's. Attract people's eye for awhile enough for them to buy a bottle. Fuck, I wish.'
A familiar creaking of wood accompanied with the chime of a bell snapped Idoya out of her thoughts and back into reality. She was able to look up in time to see the newcomer take a seat at the far end of the bar and slouch over the counter. She stood there, slowly placing the mug down and observing the patron for a moment before making her lips curve up into a small and satisfied smirk. Maybe her boss was right. Nevertheless, it was time for La Androginia to shine.
She threw her rag over her shoulder and casually strutted toward the patron, leaning against the counter beside them and getting into her "bartender" mode. "Rough day, ah buey?" She said with a empathetic smile, already used to the tired look in their eyes from other countless customers she'd met. "What would you like to drink?~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
*Dios mio - Dear god;; La Androginia - The Androgyne;; Ah buey - literal translation: Ah ox, meant as an expression such as "Rough day, eh?" or "Rough day, huh?" or "Rough day, right dude?"
