Catalin Holiday
biological information
Full Name: Catalin Francesca Holiday Nickname: Cat. Alias(es): The Cat. Gender: Female. Orientation: Pansexual. Age: 20. Date of Birth: October 31st. Marital Status: Single. Place of Birth: London, England. Race: Gifted-Half Demon. Occupation: World class computer hacker/ weapons creator.
Physical Appearance: Cat is a very dainty and fragile looking girl. Most would describe her as skeletal but if one had the honor of seeing her in the nude, they would be able to see that she actually does have muscle and isn't just skin and bone. She has a very low amount of body fat, stemming from both how much she exercises during the day and from her strange eating habits. She prefers to eat once a day, usually junk food like chips and soda, or soup, tuna, and lots of fish. It's just a favorite of hers - sushi that is. If she eats other meat, the more rare the better. She doesn't touch poultry - she feels chickens are too disease prone. The gal stands at about five feet two inches, very short and petite for her height, but can pack one hell of a punch. She does have curves here and there but mostly she has a pretty waif figure and is, generally, more legs and arms than anything. Most would describe her figure as actually being feline in grace and stature yet very much so like a man because of her "surf board" qualities. She has several tattoos, but they are all small and usually go unnoticed. She has "cat" in Russian on her inner right arm, "cat" in capital, English letters on the nape of her neck, "meow" in capital letters inside her lower lip, a cat in a graceful pose on her left rib cage, a giraffe on her right side of her back toward her rib cage, and a Russian doll on her mid to lower back by the giraffe - both of which were matching tattoos she received during her stay in Russia.
One thing that stands out the most about Catalin is her natural platinum blonde hair, always cut in a short, choppy bob, and her matching eyebrows and eyelashes. She used to be ridiculed growing up - being called an albino and a freak but it only added to her built up anger and spitefulness. She also has a pixie-like nose that slightly turns up at the end, giving her that feline characteristic that is only further accomplished through her freckles, peppered along the bridge of said nose and her high cheek bones. Speaking of her cheeks, they sometimes give the impression of being hollow yet her youth still shines through in her full lips, usually a natural pale tone. Her teeth seem pearly white and straight, brought on by genetics. Her eyes are the palest of blue hues outlined in a deep, navy tone. When shifting, her pupils go narrow like a cat's but the eye color does not change - a sign that she still retains her human mind since a cat's is normally yellow.
When shifting, her favorite form is a simple, all white cat. It isn't large like a man turning into his werewolf form - no. She turns into an actual cat. Whichever feline she shifts into, it is always fully the color of freshly fallen snow with bright blue orbs that seem like floating orbs. As a white cat, she stands at the average height and length of a cat which, she figures, is why she is so small in her human form. Another way to see if a white cat is actually Catalin is by the collar around her neck that holds a special bullet which is further explained in the history portion as to how she acquired it.
As for her style, she prefers a very punk, grunge, dark style that was seen mostly in the 60's up until the late 90's. Her shoe collection ranges from creepers to beat up combat boots, clear stripper shoes and oxfords. She has a fascination with sunhats and beanies and the more the clothing hangs on her, the more she loves to curl up in it. When doing some kind of "outside work" for people on the internet, she usually wears an all black pleather outfit and knee high combat boots with her makeup done in dramatic matching lipstick and eye shadow.

special abilities
Powers: - Shifting: Cat can shift into any feline as long as she has a picture of it in her head - a detailed one. She can't shift into any other animal and trust me, she has tried. The only one she never really has to think about in detail is her usual white cat form since it was the first one she ever shifted into and simply stuck with her the rest of her life. Other than that, she normally carries a few pictures of wildlife cats ranging from panthers to cheetahs and can harbor their natural abilities such as speed and balance.
- Gift of Tongue: She isn't sure how she can understand a multitude of languages and speak them with ease. It simply comes to her naturally. She never actually asked how she was able to do it but she uses it to her advantage. This also helps her communicate with animals, especially felines when she wants to communicate in her human form. Usually she does so verbally and not through her mind. She doesn't have that ability.
- Night Vision: This comes more into play with her feline genetics. In her human or feline forms, she can see in the dark, something she discovered not everyone in the world had, at a very young age. She can see like any other feline can in the dark with ease and she actually prefers the dark to the light.
- Speed/Agility: This stems, as well, from her feline abilities. In her human form, she is more so like the white cat in the aspect of speed and agility but when in her other feline forms, another favorite being a panther and a cheetah, she can use their speed and agility to the fullest. Usually, if she focuses enough, she can achieve such speed as a human but she has to focus, again, on a specific feline animal and also focus on not shifting at the same time. It is something she is still perfecting but she's got it pretty down packed for the most part. She still fumbles with it every now and again especially when under pressure.
- Anima: She can sense when evil is lurking close by, usually up to a three mile radius if she concentrates on the energy enough. She usually uses her five senses - but her nose, ears, and in feline form) whiskers usually pick them up fairly easily. She usually uses it to sense if she is in danger and considers it a sixth sense.
- Potens: Cat, being part demon, has a whole damn lot of it for a skinny, petite, 5'2 female. She doesn't know any feline that can hold so much weight, considering she herself is less than one hundred pounds, but because of her half demon side it basically filters into her when she is in her feline form. She can carry up to seven hundred to eight hundred pounds with ease but it does tire her out quickly because she does not do it often enough to have the right stamina for it.
- Infernus: This is something Cat has yet to really use. She used it once, by accident, and it was then she was forced to leave the school she had attended in Russia because they considered her a “bad influence” (further explained in her history). This usually comes about when she is extremely angry or feels like she is in a tremendous amount of pressure and doesn't know how else to defend herself. She doesn't know how to control it and generally does not use it because of the lack of control she has over it. She is hoping to learn more in order to reach one of her ultimate goals.
Skills: - Computer Hacking: Need a computer hacker? Cat is definitely the one to call. She is extremely gifted in the field, finding her intelligence in technology something of a relaxing feat. She can spend hours on a computer creating codes that could shut down entire government buildings and can reach in and snatch classified files. This came about with her anti-social mannerisms and when she couldn't make friends, she figured she could make them online. In the online world, she is known as simply "The Cat" and is considered practically a goddess for her abilities - she also normally gets paid to do so and is well known for knowing too much about everyone else and covering her tracks extremely well.
- Mathematics: With computer hacking comes the need to know a lot of mathematical equations. Truly, the mathematics she is more versed in revolves around a "0100" language which is typical for computer hackers. She considers math to be a favorite subject of hers and can solve complicated equations in her head fairly easily. She isn't some kind of Einstein, but she is pretty damn close.
- Weapons Manufacturing: Because she knows so much about computers and mathematics, she's been able to manufacture her own weapons, especially on the salary she's been making as of late. She creates prototypes on her own private computer before she actually turns them into reality and usually, the process is very tedious. Coming up with a brand new weapons could take a few weeks but with enough motivation (especially shiny and sparkly things...or plain money) , she can create one fairly quickly. She usually only makes about a handful and has many stashed in secret locations through her apartment. She only sells one of each batch to the highest bidders and they do what they please with it - whether to duplicate it or keep it for themselves. She does not, however, give away her designs and it is usually difficult to replicate her weapons down to a t. Each one has her signature, "Cat", in very simplistic, child-like handwriting.
- Fighting: She received her training mostly on the streets but eventually was taught by a rogue group of Russian mercenaries at a young age. She knows a multiple amount of fighting styles ranging from Tai jitsu to simple street boxing. She uses these styles in combination with her gifted abilities of felines in her human form to take down whomever she needs to.
Personal Possessions: - Enchanted Bullet/Bell Collar: Cat has the tendency to wear a this, white leather collar around her neck, usually down by her collar bone, that holds a single, silver bullet at the end of it. She doesn't know what the symbols surrounding the bullet mean since she can't see them very well anyway since they are extremely small and seem to be in a random order. She knows she can't take it off since she has tried to do so in the past. She doesn't even know how she obtained it - just that she woke up wearing it when she was a child and that it has stayed around her neck, growing right along with her, ever since. When angry or when she seems to become more demonic than human, the spell written across the bullet glows as bright as her anger is at the moment before turning into a bell. When the bell rings, she seems to instantly become calm and relaxed, even groggy, and shifts into her white cat form without controlling it and falling asleep. Upon waking up, she doesn't have any recollection of the events shortly before, during, and after the ring of the bell.
- USB Drives: Like any computer hacker, her USB drives her life. She has tones, all in envelopes in filing cabinets locked up in her apartment - each holding back up and even further back up and even further back up for those back ups and so on should any of her technology get destroyed. She has saved everything, even on floppy disks, since she learned to use a computer at the age of ten.
- Laptop Named Rufus: Her favorite laptop, considered her baby, is named Rufus. He is a simple Mac Book Pro laptop and she adores it like it is the most valuable thing she could ever own. She does own a large number of other laptops, having about five in total ranging from HP's to Dells to Apples, but her Mac Book Pro is considered her "mother board."
- Motorcycle: She gets from place to place on her Scrambler styled Honda CL350 motorcycle. It is all black and silver and though it may look like a piece of junk, it obviously isn't if she adores it so much. She especially likes to use it when she feels the need to be "extra human" instead of just running from place to place or hopping from rooftop to rooftop. She enjoys the speed and how she can easily weave in and out of traffic. No worries, she does wear a helmet that comes with a face guard. She may be like a cat, but she doesn't want to test whether she has nine lives or not.
Weapons and Equipment: - Special Bullets: Cat designs most of her bullets herself since they are then, essentially, unable to be traced to any specific origin though she does put a signature "C" on each one just for the fun of it. Most are made of pure silver or hold Ultraviolet light within them.
- Two Beretta 92FS: She does love her guns and though she bought these two, they were literally the only two she bought. She has taken them apart and put them back together a numerous amount of times and she uses them often when she doesn't want to reveal that she is, in fact, gifted. They most definitely come in handy and are usually hidden on her in some way - even if they are in a simple bag hanging off her shoulder. She doesn't go anywhere without them mostly out of paranoia.
- Utility Belt: This is usually pertained more to if she has a specific target in mind. She doesn't carry a utility belt all the time - only when she's in that all black pleather attire of hers that means she's dead serious about kicking some ass. It is usually made of leather and wrapped around her waist. It usually contains only bullets and her two berettas...when she feels cheeky, it'll hold a snack in case she gets hungry.
Limitations: Like anyone else, she can be killed like any other human. A stab at the heart, cutting off her head, whatever else one wants to get creative with. She hasn't tested whether she has nine lives or not so she wouldn't know until she was actually killed - if she would come back or just stay dead. She doesn't want to try it. She can be heavily effected by magic, even become trapped in a spell circle which she considers a pain in the ass. She has also been burned by a blessed crossed before when she was in Russia and since then simply finds people who are highly religious annoying. Holy grounds such as churches and graveyards she has had any trouble with in the past. Also, if she is hurt badly while in another feline form, she usually reverts back to her human nude form. She also avoids dogs because she just hates them - werewolves included. Their bites do scare and annoy the living daylights out of her and just their presence gets her in a bit of a mental frenzy. She has come to realize she can sense werewolves very easily and usually ends up hissing at them, even in their human forms, unintentionally and finding them very...nerve-wrecking.
In her feline form, she doesn't like water very much but can handle it. Also, her collar, which she isn't able to take off and it is apparently riddled with spells is something that, in many ways, controls her. When she gets extremely angry, such as the time she used that one demonic gift of hers, the markings on the bullet seem to glow and turn into the shape of a bell. When the bell gives a tiny ring, she seems to immediately calm down and relax, usually leading her to go into her white cat form, purr, and curl up in a ball as if ready to sleep. It has happened on numerous occasions and she usually just wakes up and doesn't remember ever being angry. Only once does she remember being angry and it is only because the witnesses "jogged" her memory. Normally, though, she has no recollection of the event.
psychoanalysis
Personality Description: Cat is a...complicated...individual.
Much like the story of Beauty and the Beast, she is a beast who doesn't see her own inner beauty - and she doesn't expect anyone else to either. Deep down she is a very sweet and kind hearted girl. She is very much so like a cat, wanting to curl up against its loved ones, be pet, and purr in a satisfied manner. She is also like a kitten: playful and charming, curious, and adventurous - ready to get up and do anything like play with a ball of yarn and wrestle. As a child she was very much so this way but events in her life have changed and hardened her, causing her to become the young woman she is today. Defiant and rebellious, her heart grew cold and now she is everything but the positive things mentioned above. She has a fairly low self esteem when it comes to her appearance, mostly because of how she was bullied while growing up for having such a fair complexion and looking like a freak. She has grown to become naturally anti-social and finds it easier to communicate with people when it isn't face to face. She prefers the internet, cell phones, etc. Ever so independent like a cat, she doesn't like to be controlled or told what to do. She does things her way and that's that. There is no trying to convince her otherwise no matter what the cost-whether she is right or wrong. She would much rather learn from her own experiences than have to learn from someone else's. And yet, like the story of Beauty and the Beast, hand her a rose (figuratively of course) and she will be yours - like puddy in the palm of your hand.
Patient and intelligent, she likes to be right all the damn time. She doesn't like to show weaknesses and for this reason, tends to keep her distance. However, she is an extremely trustworthy and loyal person once you have proven yourself to her. She is very good at keeping secrets and she personally does not speak all that much to begin with. When she does speak she is very blunt and sarcastic, preferring brutal honesty like the "rip off the band aid" approach. She likes things to be done efficiently and is a big perfectionist in everything she does - especially with her computer hacking abilities - the one thing she takes the most pride in. She has learned about the majority of the dealings of the major "bosses" throughout the city thanks to this acquired ability but she knows when she is overstepping her boundaries and those imaginary lines. However, she does like to push buttons and push people to the limit. She finds it enjoyable. Her sailor's mouth usually is a turn off to people but, even then, she does like sex and often - usually with females. It is rare for her to have sex with a male, due to issues she has had in the past, and she also has a very strong feminist streak within her. She does believe women can do anything better than men - if not just the same - and loves to prove it.
She smokes like a chimney but doesn't drink or do drugs because she doesn't like the effect of possibly blacking out and not having control of her own situation. She does drink, though, on occasion but usually not by much. When angry, she notices that she blacks out and always wakes up in the nude in a pile of her own clothes. She normally doesn't even know how she gets into such positions, just that she does and thus, has taught herself to be more patient and calm and not get so easily frustrated at little things. When depressed, she usually, and this is a strange quirk, goes to her bathtub and curls up like a cat to keep herself from crying. Even when alone she doesn't like to show her own weaknesses. Paranoia is something that constantly plagues her, which throws in a large amount of anxiety and sleep deprivation unless in her cat form. She is constantly thinking people know who and what she is and thus, her curiosity as to her own origins was spiked in order to relieve herself of such paranoia.
However, despite all of these characteristics, Cat does crave power and becoming a full-fledged demon. She does love her gift of being whatever feline she can set her mind to but the powers of her demon half that she can’t fully awaken because of her stupid collar has only spiked her curiosity in the subject. She’d hoping to someday break that collar, get it off, and somehow achieve that far-fetched idea of becoming a demon – reaching her potential…whatever that is.
Strengths:- Intelligence: Being a world class computer hacker and praised for such feats, Cat is obviously intelligent and the majority of it was through self-discipline and teaching herself. Also, in order to create her own weapons, she does need some kind of intelligence and thus, she values her smarts above anything else about her and always uses it to her advantage in every situation.
- Patient: Knowing that having a short fuse can lead to her many black outs, she taught herself patience through exercises such as yoga and meditation. She's come to realize patience is more than just a virtue-it is something she needs in order to survive.
- Independent: Being independent is something she has never taken for granted. She considers her independence something of an achievement and it was her first goal she was ever able to accomplish - something she is extremely proud of and knows not many women can accomplish at an age such as her own.
- Secretive: Cat's secretive side has given her an air of mystery most women can't match. She doesn't speak much but when she does, it is usually something worth listening to. She likes privacy and tends to get violent on intruders, even if it is simply verbally. Her sly, secretive nature stems from her feline roots and is usually what most would say her most attractive feature.
- Trustworthy/Loyal: She is loyal to those she cares about deeply and considers family - which isn't much. She doesn't do relationships but she is most definitely a trustworthy friend. With strangers, she doesn't trust nor is she loyal to anyone but herself and usually puts herself before others - a selfishness that also stems from her feline roots.
Weaknesses:- Violent: Catalin is very much so prone to violent behavior. She, for one, doesn't like being touched by strangers and she will usually threaten people who come much too close to her. But her threats aren't to be taken lightly - they usually become promises. This is another reason she has a rift between her and other people and is unable to really be socially acceptable according to society's standards.
- Sarcastic: Some would consider her sarcasm a breath of fresh air. Most would consider it plain rude. She doesn't try to sugar coat things because she finds it a waste of time and she'd rather not test her own patience. She tells it how it is regardless of whether it hurts your feelings or makes you uncomfortable. Sarcasm is a language she speaks fluently.
- Mysterious: Despite her air of mystery being probably her best asset, it is also her worst. She is very distant and always keeps people an arm's length away instead of letting them in. This is what usually leads to people calling her a freak or being strange because people simply don't understand her and don't want to.
- Anti -Social: At an early age, she realized she didn't like people. It probably started around the age of four, in preschool, when she was constantly ridiculed because of her appearance. This lead to her violence, her privacy, her fierce defiance and independence. She doesn't like trying to play nice with people when they don't play nice with her.
- Sailor’s Mouth: One would think she had no manners! Cat's mouth is uncensored. She has no problem with using profanity and doesn't care if people tell her it makes her seem ignorant. She can turn it around and make YOU look like the fool if you want to play THAT game.
Fears:- Abuse: After an incident that occurred when she was a child with a mage, she hasn’t been able to be with a man. She won’t admit her fear of getting close to a man – her own father included. She’s very cautious around them and usually thinks the worst. One could say she is sexist but she simply doesn’t want the incident to occur again.
- Failure: Not necessarily becoming a failure in her father’s eyes but more so a simple failure of not achieving what she personally wants to achieve such as becoming a full demon to seek the revenge she completely wants on the man who had done her wrong – as well as anyone else who treated her wrongly in the past. Not accomplishing her goals, even minor ones; tend to scare the living daylights out of her. She’s a perfectionist and an overachiever after all.
- Control: Having someone control her scares the living daylights out of her and is probably her all time biggest fear. Being trapped and helpless while someone else takes the wheel, so to speak, would have her going on a frenzy or – even worse – get her completely pissed off.
Goals:- Demon Side: Cat is just dying to bring out her demon side and thus, is trying to get rid of her collar but of course with no prevail. She feels once she’s achieved becoming a full demon, like her father, she can become powerful and no one can ever harm her again.
- Wealth/Status: Along with this demonic side, she wants wealth and status to be able to do as she pleases and squash whomever pisses her off like a cockroach. Her mind, most times, is filled with revenge and trying to achieve these two goals. Though she is already plenty wealthy, she wants the status that comes with it and to make more money through her own work which is why she refuses to get any money from her father. She feels with wealth and status, she can finally feel freedom in the purest form.
biography
Their Story: ”Dad?”
The British accented voice, small and sweet like the purr of a kitten, came out from behind the tall man’s leg, a platinum blonde head poked out as tiny fingers clutched the pant leg of the expensive pin stripe suit. Large, feline orbs looked a bit alien on her face, lips a tad bit too full for her age and her nose like that of a pixie. Everything about her seemed miniature and once she gave another tug on the pant leg to gain his attention, she seemed a bit more satisfied.
”Jonathon said I looked like Casper today in school.”
She seemed saddened by this fact – that Jonathon Harper, the cutest boy in class, had told her she looked like Casper. She wasn’t entirely sure who Casper even was until his best friend, Qauishon, started chanting Casper the friendly ghost! over and over again while pointing at her and laughing. She had been tempted to claw his face out, like she did to the large stuffed bear that Noblewoman had given to her on her third birthday. She ended up going into her little kitten form and clawing the crap out of it just because she wanted to know how the inside looked if it was on the outside. The tall demon looked down at her with an arched eyebrow and she gave a sort of whimper before continuing in a clear voice as if determined to show him it suddenly didn’t bother her anymore, ”I got an A on my race car project,” her eyes wavered, ”I think you should let me bump up a grade. Kindergarten is too easy. Maybe second grade? I already know how to read…” Which was true. Her academics came easy to her. He seemed to nod, now, more satisfied with what she was saying than what she was complaining about before but as people started filtering into the conference room, she found herself resorting to her tiny, white cat form and jumping onto her father’s expensive oak business table. He sat at the far end right across from her in a large, leather swivel chair and Catalin jumped onto his lap, purring and curling up like a ball as he stroked her back, giving her a look that they could talk later about helping her skip ahead to the second grade despite only being five years old.
He always went back and forth between London and Arc City – wherever Arc City was. She had never seen the place before but had heard many people, who came by that office, talk animatedly about it like it was some kind of treasure cove. She didn’t understand why he left her to be raised by some nanny in London when she should have been in Arc City with him. But her first five years of life were nothing grand. She was born on Halloween to a mother she would never meet on a full, plump moon. She asked her father once what happened to her mother, if she even had one, and he had replied with a dark yet amused laugh (one she would never admit she admired and wished she could possess) and said these exact words: ”You don’t have a mother. I sacrificed a cat to bring you into this world.” She even asked that Noblewoman who was always around and she would say the same thing, the two of them laughing at her foolish question like they had some kind of sick and twisted inside joke. But the way Catalin would always slip into meetings as a cat, happy as can be, and sit on her father’s lap as if him petting her would somehow ease his troubles away…well, she mentally would beat herself up for realizing those were the happiest moments she had with him; not in her human form as his daughter but as a simple white cat with bright blue eyes that would scan the room with a menacing look, ready to claw out the faces of anyone who should bring any harm to him.
It was at the age of five, though, that everything started to slowly change.
It was true, she knew she was gifted as a shifter of felines and that she was part demon. She believed the story of her father sacrificing a cat in order to bring her into this realm or world or whatever it was. It made some kind of sense considering she was basically part cat. At this tender age, however, while attending her grammar boarding school as usual in London, she had been attacked by Jonathon and Qauishon again only this time, it wasn’t just to call her Casper. The boys had been nothing but illusions, backing her up into a corner in an alleyway while on her way home. She didn’t sleep in the dorms there. She stayed with her nanny at her father’s lavishing estate in the city. The boys had cornered her and, being she didn’t know much about magic or her own powers then, had ended up stepping into an entranced circle, drawn by salt as the two boys started whispering words she, for some reason, seemed to be able to understand. But they hurt her ears and in vain tried stepping out but she couldn’t. As they whispered spells, their forms seemed to change into older men and it was then she realized they had been doing nothing but watching her, stalking her, and it explained why the two had been so smart in class, why she disliked them so much. In that alleyway, when darkness finally fell and they thoroughly beat her with magic spells that made her feel like her insides were burning as they tried to pull information out of her about her father, Jonathon took the liberty of thoroughly raping the five year old girl and Qauishon took the liberty of videotaping it. They were sick and twisting, but when she finally was able to get out of the circle, thanks to her nanny who was one hell of a fallen angel, the two men were nowhere in sight but there was blood all over the walls of the alleyway and all over her. It was at this time, she woke up and found a collar around her neck, placed there by her Nanny –information kept from Catalin.
The incident was never spoken of. Catalin remained fairly normal but asked to be transferred to another school by her father on the basis that the ones in London were not teaching her what she needed to be taught. She was transferred to a boarding school in Paris, once again traveling between the school and a city apartment where her nanny lived. There, she continued striving for excellence in her academics. It was an all girl’s boarding school and it was there at the tender age of ten, that she met Celeste. The gal was of Spanish decent and said she knew more about magic than the average human being. She had done her research and in turn, promised to teach Catalin everything she knew. Over the summers, Catalin would bring Celeste with her to see her father in Arc City before they would go to Bermuda or Aruba or Italy together but the magic lessons were constantly put off in favor of a secretive infatuation brewing between the two. Catalin remained prim and proper throughout these years, never disappointing her father but never really having time for anything either despite her young age and having to travel with her supposed demon Nanny. It was around this time she developed her catch phrase I don’t have time for this and it simply stuck on her like a second skin. Throughout these years she also developed a love for the computer and technology, finding it was easier to make friends on the internet and live some kind of virtual life than to be constantly ridiculed and labeled. Her only real friend had been Celeste.
It was during a vacation in Aruba that Catalin walked in on her Nanny plunging a knife into Celeste’s chest while she slept. It turned out, through the diaries Celeste kept which her Nanny had investigated, that she had been planning on bringing out Catalin’s “inner demon” (as an exact quote) and had spells beyond capacity for a girl so young meaning she would have had help. She had wanted to control Cat, used her to her whim, and so, Cat found the kill justifiable but it didn’t make it any easier to swallow. It was during this time she began thinking of how on earth such a feat could be possible and how she suddenly wanted it to be possible – not to have someone control her but so that she could have power. Why else would Celeste want her unless she was worth literally dying for? Upon the death of Celeste, Catalin was transferred from a school in Paris to a school in Moscow, finding the isolation from Western Europe to be absolutely delightful. She only did, after all, have one close friend her five years in Paris and she ended up dead. Everyone else, despite Cat always looking posh and fabulously in style, saw her as either a bitch or a freak – no matter how hard she tried to fit in. In Moscow, though, she fell right in with a group of girls and women who were just as different and outcasted as Cat was. They all kept up the appearances of being wealthy women and posh girls, dressing in the latest fashions, being on the honor roll, living the life at parties and dating all the cutest boys. Cat was more accepted in that little circle. They were all shifters ranging from amphibians to birds. It wasn’t long before Cat felt like she was part of a family and her frequent flights to Arc City to visit her father became less and less over the summers. She preferred to stay in Moscow, claiming she had to study and would attend school all year round.
At the age of fifteen, though, she had gotten involved with the group much to heavily and they asked her to join them in becoming a full on mercenary. They had taught her how to fight the way they did, how to survive the wilderness, the freezing Russian winters, to control her powers better than she ever thought she could. For four and a half long years, she had been another sister among them but upon getting into an argument because she didn’t want to become a mercenary – she simply wanted to continue being the teenager she was and living the posh, grand lifestyle she was much too accustomed to, they had gotten her…angry. She’d never felt such rage toward anyone – people she trusted and told the truth to. She had essentially given them her heart on a silver platter and they stabbed it with a rusty knife and twisted it around as they threw her past into her face and with that anger came that fire she felt burning in her chest – the same one she’d felt as a five year old when they were throwing spells at her. Had they really been torturing her or had they been trying to release the demon she could become? But as she threw orbs of energy that formed in her palms at the women, her collar started to glow and she heard the faint ring of a bell. The grogginess and sleepiness started to somehow set in, her anger quickly disappearing as she transformed into her usual, favorite, white cat shape and fell fast asleep. The group had fled from her then and again, her fallen angel Nanny had come to her rescue as if simply knowing what was happening to her and decided, finally, that Catalin needed to be with her father in Arc City – a decision she forced upon Cat after explaining to her what happened in Moscow.
Just shy of turning sixteen, Catalin moved in with her father in Arc City and though their routine was very much the same as it had been when she was a child, she found herself growing more and more rebellious. She didn’t like living under a roof where she wasn’t in charge and things only got worse when her father took away her nanny and sent her to work somewhere else unknown to Catalin so she had to fend for herself. Feeling betrayed, she took all her designer clothing and threw them out on the streets. She started dressing different, claiming a more punk, grunge edge to her wardrobe to somehow defy her father, prove that she didn’t need his money to stay alive. By seventeen she had finished her schooling, graduated with honors, and was well established in the computer hacking world. She went under the alias “Cat” and began getting paid for hacking into government databases from around the globe. She, in many ways, was a bit of a personal investigator but she didn’t like the term much. Already having sat in on enough of her father’s meetings to know what was going on in Arc City by that time, she started developing her own weapons and after selling them on the black market, was able to raise up enough money to give her father the finger and move out. Though the small, cozy apartment she lived in wasn’t much, by the age of eighteen, she was well known on the streets. She took to killing people, after a while, wh didn’t pay up what they were supposed to and then she’d take all the money they had in their bank accounts - even if it was four dollars but of course, she didn’t do business with just anyone and being the type of gal she was – she knew how to cover her tracks and not get caught.
Since moving out, she became notoriously known as very edgy and blunt, with a quiet yet in your face attitude and an air of slight arrogance when stupid questions are thrown her way. She frequents her father’s office often though more so in her cat form than anything, just to bother him and to sit on his lap during meetings just to watch everyone and listen in – something he obviously doesn’t seem to mind. It helps with her own business ventures and once she figures out how to get this stupid collar her Nanny put on her off, she will become a demon just like him…Though she knew better than to compare herself to daddy dearest.
If anything, Catalin was like the cat her father supposedly sacrificed to bring her into this world.
