point reward system Here in Urban Underworld, we have implemented a unique system wherein a certain number of points can be exchanged for different prizes. Every post grants a total of 2 points. This system functions as a means to control the strength level of the characters in the site, and also to give the members some form of goal to aspire for.
Once you've decided to exchange your points for a reward then it will be subtracted from your total points (eg. A member with 200 points who redeems a prize worth 150 points will be left with 50).
These prizes are completely refundable and are also exchangeable for anything of equal value. However, that entails that the benefits presented by the initial license are no longer valid.

character licenses The character license is a method for us to maintain the power levels of characters in the site. All new members must start with creating a character of average power level; however they can later exchange their points for character licenses that allow them to create characters of a more powerful nature.
They can use these licenses to either "ascend, their already existing characters and allow them to, effectively, grow more powerful, or they can opt to create an entirely new character. With each category of character licenses, upgrading a license into a higher tier is cheaper than working for the entire point requirement. An example is if one wishes to create a Vampire Elder, they can merely use their Vampire Ancient license plus an addition 90 points. That amounts to a total of 240 points instead of the initially required 250.
Sometimes, these licenses will be given out for free in order to push forward a site-wide plots or as rewards for contests or any type of behavior which the staff deems worthy enough for reward. But the staff will not be withdrawing any licenses once they have been given out, you’ve worked for them so we don’t believe we have any right of taking them away.
For any additional questions please contact any members of the staff.

faction licenses If one or more people wish to create their own official faction to join in the war of Arc, their initial members must have a number of posts cumulative into 500. In the case that the division doesn’t equal a whole number, the required number of point per initial member is rounded up. (eg. 3 initial members require 167 posts each.) The minimum number of people required to start a faction is one.
Note: To make a faction, POSTS shall be counted, not POINTS.
1 initial member: [costs: 500 posts/person] 2 initial members: [costs: 250 posts/person] 3 initial members: [costs: 167 posts/person] 4 initial members: [costs: 125 posts/person] 5 initial members: [costs: 100 posts/person] ...and so on.

the keys of power If a person wishes to obtain one of the keys of power, they must first have 1000 points. On the chance that all seven keys are already in individual possessions, the person who has 1000 points may opt to challenge someone who owns the key of their liking. There will be a succeeding “fight” thread, involving how the key may or may not have its ownership changed. The winner of the fight will be decided by The City, along with one staff member, and one regular member by means of majority vote. The one who loses does not get the key, but will be given back their 1000 points.
